Sue Baptiste is a full Professor in the School of Rehabilitation Science, Faculty of Health Sciences at McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Professor Baptiste completed her professional program in occupational therapy in England and shortly after graduation, immigrated to Canada where she has stayed throughout her career. Sue was the President for the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists, from October 2010 until September 30th 2012. She is currently the Vice President for the World Federation of Occupational Therapists for two more years following an initial four-year term that commenced June 2012; her incumbency will conclude in 2018. Sue is known particularly for her work as one of a team of six occupational therapists who developed the Canadian Occupational Performance Measure (COPM), an outcome measure used in over 40 countries and translated into 34 languages currently. In addition, she has consulted around the world in curriculum development and problem-based learning, working with many professions including medicine, dentistry, naturopathy, chiropractic, physiotherapy, nursing, veterinary medicine, border services, police forces and many others.
