Roopa Srinivasan

I am a Developmental Pediatrician at Ummeed Child Development Center, a nonprofit organization in India. With over 20 years of experience in the field, I have played an instrumental role in exploring how concepts such as Family-Centered Care and Participation can be understood and applied in our context, and in supporting their implementation across center-based and community-based services provided by Ummeed and other organizations in India.

My work includes designing and delivering training programs for pediatricians, developmental pediatricians, and other professionals working with children with disabilities, as well as contributing to research that reflects and responds to the Indian context.

I currently lead Ummeed's systems change initiatives in Early Childhood Development, which aim to make evidence-based, family-centered, and strengths-based models of care accessible across India by working closely with government systems. I am also an Executive Board Member of the International Developmental Pediatrics Association( IDPA)
