Biography
Christelle Pons is a French physiatrist and researcher. She completed her PhD in 2018 at the Université de Bretagne Occidentale in France. Her doctoral work focused on the specific issue of the upper limb in children with brachial plexus injury to better understand its specificities and propose new treatments by using a biomechanical approach. She now focuses her research on the difficulties and needs of children with disabilities and their families in daily life and rehabilitation, as well as on technical solutions that could help overcome the difficulties encountered. She promotes an approach, from the identification of needs to the creation of solutions, involving children/their families, solutions providers (e.g., engineers) and health professionals. Christelle’s postdoctoral fellowship at CanChild is under the supervision of Dr. Jan Willem Gorter.
