Elizabeth Chambers

Biography
Elizabeth Chambers is a certified teacher, caregiver, and advocate for family-centred care. Living in the Niagara Region with her husband and three children, Elizabeth is part of the “club sandwich” generation—supporting both children and aging parents, including caring for her mother living with Alzheimer’s and a medically complex son. After the traumatic birth of your youngest, Elizabeth’s path shifted from education toward research, advocacy, and becoming a knowledge broker to aid in health-system change. Elizabeth's work is grounded in family-centred, strengths-based practice and considering the whole story of a child when helping them become the best version of themselves.
She is now a Parent Partner and Co-Principal Investigator on multiple research projects, serves on the international leadership team for ENVISAGE, and is an associate member of the CanChild Centre for Childhood-Onset Disability Research at McMaster University. She is a global speaker, consultant, and writer at lightkeeperlife.com Elizabeth brings both professional expertise and lived experience to her work, and is deeply committed to building inclusive, collaborative spaces in healthcare, education and research.
