Genevieve Currie

Genevieve Currie is a parent advocate, registered nurse, and researcher in rare disease, medical complexity and disability. She is a parent of two children with neurodevelopmental disabilities, one with a rare medically complex disease. She is also an Associate Professor in the School of Nursing and Midwifery at Mount Royal University, Calgary, Alberta. She sits on several national committees around rare disease and medical complexity including as Co-Chair of the Children with Medical Complexity Network with Children's Healthcare Canada. She also works with CanChild Center for Disability Research to deliver Family Engagement in Research and Envisage-SP. Her current research and expertise interests are focused on the caregiver experience of caring for a child with a rare disease, caregiving across the life course, family centered care, and family engagement in health care and research.
