Pediatric researchers at McMaster University are helping lead a national network, RareKids-CAN, to make it easier for children with rare diseases across Canada to join clinical trials and access new treatments!
CanChild scientist, Michelle Batthish, is helping lead efforts to strengthen the transition from pediatric to adult care for youth with rare diseases. Alongside, CanChild scientist Andrea Cross, and associate member, Sara Pot, are advancing meaningful youth and family engagement across the network, supporting researchers, patients, and family partners to collaborate as active members of research teams.
Together, their work is helping ensure rare disease research and care better reflect the priorities and lived experiences of families.
