Services in School

Children and youth attend school to acquire academic, social and learning skills needed for future success. Although all children need support from family, educators and peers to succeed and participate to the best of their abilities, some children may have additional needs and require further support (see Ministry of Education website).

Our program of research addresses the additional services and supports that are provided in educational settings by occupational therapists, physiotherapists and speech-language pathologists. Here you will find resources to support families, educators and professionals who provide support to children in schools as well as descriptions of the types of research that we are engaging in to enhance services for children and youth with special needs.
