Biography
Elisabetta Trinari is a child and adolescent neuropsychiatrist from Italy, who completed a combined training in pediatric neurology and child psychiatry with a specific focus on child development at the University of Rome - La Sapienza. During her time in Italy, she dedicated her clinical work to patients with developmental and psychiatric conditions, serving at the Regional Reference Center for Autism Spectrum Disorders. After relocating to Canada, Dr. Trinari completed a master’s program in Health Research Methodology at McMaster University, specializing in clinical epidemiology. She joined the Division of Developmental Pediatrics as an Assistant Professor in November 2021. In this role, she consults for the HUB Autism Assessment Clinic and General Development Clinic, as well as for the multidisciplinary Tuberous Sclerosis Complex Clinic.
Dr. Trinari's clinical and research interests are related to the assessment and treatment of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, with dual diagnoses, developmental and psychiatric, and with neurogenetic syndromes associated with developmental disabilities. Her primary focus is producing high-impact research by conducting systematic reviews and evidence synthesis in this population. She is also the local co-PI of the Province of Ontario Neurodevelopmental Disorders (POND) Network study and the site-qualified investigator for the CALM study, a multi-site randomized controlled trial on sertraline in children with neurodevelopment disabilities.
