Biography
Dr. Gabriel M. Ronen is Professor Emeritus in the Department of Pediatrics, and scientist at CanChild Centre for Childhood Disability Research, Faculty of Health Sciences, McMaster University, Hamilton Ontario, Canada. Dr. Ronen is also a Pediatric Neurologist at McMaster Children’s Hospital in Hamilton.
In addition to running a busy pediatric neurology and epilepsy clinics, Dr. Ronen developed a research program in patient-reported outcomes, quality of life and physical activity measurements in young people with epilepsy over 25 years. Resulting in multiple scientific publications. Dr. Ronen also edited and co-edited books on: 1. Life quality outcomes in young people with developmental and neurological conditions, 2. Ethics in child health and 3. ICF: A hands-on approach for clinicians and families. Dr. Ronen also published on the epidemiology of neonatal seizures and prognosis of children following neonatal seizure. In addition, Dr. Ronen investigated multiple genetic-neurological conditions including on Glucose -1 transporter deficiency and familial neonatal seizures. Dr. Ronen has been mentoring students and residents in research methodologies.
